Episode 20: rain rain pls stay

HOLA!

I have no idea what happened to my last email but I am sending it again below for those who did not get it.

But guess what FINALLY arrived in the mail yesterday! MY RAIN JACKET. When i first got to the field I had debated having my parents send it to me because it seemed like such a pain to carry around until next winter so I told my mother not to worry about sending it to me. She gave me a classic "Are you sure about that" look but let me decide. Well two weeks ago I regretted that decision. A lot. It rained. A lot. And I really wished I'd had that coat with me. So I emailed home and asked for it and now it's here.

But unlike my new raincoat, the Atonement of Jesus Christ doesn't have a shipping days, or a price, or delays. You don't need to ask your mom to send it to you. He is always right there. In the back seat of your car if you need. In your closet. (or possibly you closet in Chowchilla if president sends you there) He is always there for you when "the storms of life beat upon you". Y'all listen to me. Life is going to send you storms. You DO NOT have to go walking into that storm in your lightweight, grey cardigan. Get yourself a raincoat. Turn to him. He wants you to.

But that's about as far as my analogy goes. Because today it's suppose to reach 104 degrees and so I don't really want that coat right now. But I definitely want Jesus Christ and His atonement everyday. It's not a one time use. It's not even just for the stormy days  We use it ALWAYS. For example going to Chowchilla was stressful. I was nervous. And so Christ's atonement was there to get me through the storm. But ya know the rest of the week was a blast. I loved Chowchilla. I love Sister Harris. But I still need Him. I always do.

See y'all in a hot second,
Con amor,
Hermana Nygren
