hola pals!
And here I am again. At the end of a "season". am I crying? probably. but can you BLAME me? I have to bid farewell to the bright hills of Mexico city. I've got to say adios to the little homes that twinkle every evening when we walk home. goodbye to people I have come to love oh so dearly. (Also I have received drastic news that, unlike the CCM, I will not be served three full course meals everyday while in Fresno. devastating.)
So as sad as I am to leave I am 5x more excited. (and scared out of my mind) I can not wait to get to work in Fresno and to tell y'all all about it. But for now here's some season highlights:
1. there's a little company that takes orders from parents and then brings little packages for them to give to the missionaries. my parents got me some jolly ranchers. I am fairly certain they didn't realize that one package of jolly ranchers is equivalent to a life time supply. so I've been giving them out to everyone I see and officially been named by the Latinos, "hermana dulces".
2. so I got really sick. I went to the doctor. the English speaking doctor? gone. so I had to communicate through Google translate. it. was. a. mess. 5 minutes in he was convinced I had (and I quote) "... a zoo in your stomach". it took about 10 minutes for us to realize he thought I had parasites. I'm 99% positive he was wrong. but that's what I got treated for. once again, I'll spare you the details.
3. remember my roommate that talks in her sleep? that's not a one night thing. it's an every night thing. she's recited the entire missionary purpose in spanish and taught the third lesson. she takes " I can do this in my sleep" to a whole new level.
4. I got to go to the temple twice. in Provo I had two temples I could go to whenever I wanted and I have missed it with my whole soul. both times were spiritually refreshing. People, I LOVE the temple. and Mexico
5. I also was blessed to hear from not one, not two, but THREE apostles. Elder Holland, Elder Cook, and Elder Soares. How wonderful is that? there is something incredibly peaceful about those men. I felt nothing but calm and full of joy when I listened to those servants of the Lord.
1 transfer down. 11 more to go. 🤞
See y'all in a hot second,
Con Amor,
