Pals!
So. Plot twists. I've had a love-hate relationship with them my whole life. Reading plot twists is fun. Living them is a bit more stressful. You never really know what's gonna get thrown at you. For example , the Lord might tell your mission president that in the middle of a transfer you need to be in a never-before-seen, week long exchange in Chowchilla. And you'll get a new companion. And be in a totally new area. It could possibly happen right when you and your companion had established some unity and your area was progressing. It's not like I'm talking from personal experience or anything... Except that I AM. President Mackay called us on Friday and I am being moved to a little teeny tiny town called Chowchilla for a little bit. Pretty much I had an hour to get my stuff together and then head to Chowchilla. Which, I will admit, was stressful and threw me for a loop. That's why I am SO grateful for the spirit. Because he sent me comfort and testified to me that for the next little while, Chowchilla is where I am suppose to be. And he brought two recent experiences to mind that reminded me that I just need to trust him.
1. So an example of LACK of trust. We have a friend that is really progressing so we took him to the church to show him the baptismal font. And the spirit TOLD me to check the font before we showed it to him but I was stressed about some other parts of the lesson so I ignored him. MISTAKE. Y'all. The font was FULL of cucarachas. Terrible. Luckily he still wants to be baptized but the font reveal did not go well. Oof. TRUST THE SPIRIT Y'ALL.
2. the Holy Ghost prompted us to begin working diligently with this inactive family in the ward. They are reactivating currently, especially so their daughter-in-law Jessica. She is on fire and loves the gospel and always asks to go out with us. All in all she is an amazing person. But this last week as we were meeting with her and she threw a plot twist at us. She told us that SHE HASN'T BEEN BAPTIZED. We were shocked. She has some things to do BUT is on a really solid date.
Moral of the stories: listen to the spirit. Everything he tells us is straight from our loving father in heaven. TRUST him. He knows what he is talking about.
See y'all in a hot second.
Con Amor.
