Anyways last night the assistants told us sister ward was leaving me and in mourning and disbelief I slightly, aggressively slammed down my face wash. That caused the counter to shake and my hair spray to fall and hit my mouthwash. My mouthwash fell and spilled all over the ground. But while I was cleaning it up I found my missing necklace... so blessings?
But it got me thinking about chain reactions and catalysts. Scientifically speaking a catalyst is a substance that initiates or accelerates a chemical reaction. Spiritually speaking I have come to find that that catalyst is very often a subtle prompting from the Spirit. For example the other night the spirit told us to go and knock at this persons house all the way across town. So we did. AND... No one was there. Lame. BUT we got home 20 minutes later then we normally would and so we got there at the perfect time to help our neighbor carry some boxes in. And she invited us in. And we talked to her. And she is AWESOME. And we are going to start teaching her.
So... were we just there at the right time? By happenstance? A coincidence? I don't think so. I know that the Lord is guiding us and uses his Holy Ghost as the catalyst. The question is.. are we going to be reactive?
